2007 Muzzle Load and Rifle Season
Muzzle load season was very hot and dry but during the second season the deer started coming out of the wood work We saw 4 bucks in 2007 that would score in the 260 to 300 class range 70 bucks in the 170 class and up range and 174 bucks in the 140 to 160 class range. We went 100% for shot opportunity had several misses on monster bucks and had some 150- 160 class bucks passed up and even a 170 class 11 point was passed up. It was an excellent year. Two of our hunters in rifle season had a close encounter with a record buck in the upper 200 class range and had a hunter on the last day of season saw 20 + bucks come in at once with out any does with them. our buck too doe ratio is around 7:1 now and that makes for some excellent hunting for the whole season because they have to struggle more to breed the does.
